im going to say it . that mod is not really look at very well here.. i think it looks cool if you can control them and make them go up and down . but if they are stuck in one place i dont like it ..

anyway ,, use the search feature , because following what i just wrote will be lots of people yelling at you .. so if you have a question trying searching prior to posting. this site is very informative and ill have to say about 90 percent of what you ever will ask or need has been covered allready .. not to mention there is a sleepy headlight mod post every other day .. use search . its been covered about a thousand times .. sorry if i come off like a dick

ps i reread what you wrote.. maybe a resistance know or switch ?? im sure someone has covered it allready

ok ok....... define usable =)

anyways..... if u want to NOT mod your wires and have the lazy eye effect (YES, it is called that alot even though people say sleepy eye)
then u unplug your retractor Fuse-link, and roll them up from the bottom...
since the FTP light design, our lights are better than others like 240sx, it will still aim forward........ instead of low like other cars....

ok, if u want to make them move when u turn the headlight switch....(like me who wants to waste my money) and don't want to use a toggle switch but use a contoller, pivot makes a controller for 60-80 bucks on Ebay. search for that....
it will have a % indicator yielding the % of light and how much is raised... so in the morning, u can have a lower headlight while at night u can have higher-full light

if u want to custom mod (cheaper) then u can make your own switch... (search, covered many times...) if u use lazy eye, first u turn on your lights, then u flip the switch quickly to let it go up and then stop.... repeat if u want it to go higher....

my suggestion if u choose the third option...... (never tired) but instead of using a flip switch like a light switch at home or your fog light switch.... u can (i think) have a "temporary switch" from radio shack, or electrical shops....
u know, ones that doesn't click into place.... then press that switch to energize the motors for a split second instead of flippin and flipin it.... =)

under my name (lazy eye drifter) it has a meaning.... i like lazy eyes =D
so despite what others say.... go for your own style =) if u like it, go for it

good luck!
Jon

that sounds like a much better idea that the flipping on and off really quick.... by they way, at the part place, they'll call it a momentary contact switch.... just trying to help :]

^psh thats dumb. i just got back from driving around w broken headlights. i think if i hit someone who i cant see then its their fault because 1 you should be wearing dark clothes at night on the roads where drivers cant see you and 2 if your stupid enuf to run infront of me then you should be removed from the breeding pool.

Anyone who actually thinks this looks good needs to be slapped around the head to knock some good taste into them.

Anyone who thinks driving around at night with their lights anything but fully raised is just an idiot.

well i think anyone who change their flip up lights into non-fliping projectors should be slapped too...

that is my opinion, but i won't say they have bad taste, its just a style they like

i do agree with you but not for the same reasons. i really do like the look of headlights the sit abit lower (not sleepy just not as high up) if ur confused about what im talkin about. imagine the knightsports headlight kit. people that do the sleepy eyes on a stock lighting system are stupid. why would anyone wanna actually reduce the light by such an amount. its just to bad knightsports discontinued the kit they made *sigh*
