You can always rewire the lights to turn on with the headlight in the down position and get them to shine through the FTP lenses, thus removing the 'Hey, my headlights are broken!' look.

I was at the track the other day and there were two stock TII's but one had sleepy eyes. The one with sleepy eyes was at least twice as fast... You guys don't hate!! It adds at least 15 HP... Add a sticker, some neons and man that thing will fly. It's a really good thing you don't have to speak or type proper english to drive because that guy would be screwed.. And with his temper I am sure glad he is out in Cali driving and not here in FL..

 

I think our cars should all have sleepy eyes. You all know how they like to take a nap for a couple months esp the turbo ones.

and the lower profile headlights needed to make the HEADLIGHT CHANGE like the one that chick makes in the link above.

Hey man, don't be hatin' on 18's! They aren't too bad. I have a set. I didn't buy them though. I'd prefer 17's. But they do look nice, and they are lightweight. I think the wheel size is dependent on the car. It's a package deal.

Back on topic, yes, the kit that's being offered is a good way to go. The other...not so much.

sleepy eyes arnt rice. Its personal taste. It like getting clear corners, yellow fog, ect. its all up to the owner. Sleepy eyes properly done adds a nice touch to the car. the lights might be broken to the average joe blow, but to that same joe, putting 18inch rims on any car makes it 100x better and give it more "style". when in reality it makes your engine work harder to turn those huge *** wheels and burn more gas. But Sleepy eyes is a thing thats big in the drift world. Its an aquired taste. I personally think that DriftingB26RX7's car is nice. It sleepy eyes arnt rice, he isnt trying to make his car look faster, just give it a diffrent look from every other rx7 out there. Simple as that. and I am personaly am going to be doing a sleepy eye mod. Why? because Im a drift fan and think it adds some drift taste to the car. as long as his car doesnt have a huge *** wing and super bright colored paint, it isnt rice. Just thought id point it out to you all. Now stop flaming and tell the man any info you know about doing this. And if you dont got anything good to say then please dont post.

Now onto the sleepy eye conversion and drifting in general. Drifting is all about STYLE, not about speed, and THAT is why the sleepy eye conversion has taken over the sport. It's to make the cars look "better" (beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and IMHO the beholder is a blind ************). Because of the fact that, as you stated, it is for DRIFT cars to give them more STYLE, that makes it a ricer modification for ANY street car. It serves no other purpose than to make your car look different.

Now, IF you were to change to the height for your lamps to the sleepy eye height and then add some small PIAA HID's to replace the H4 housings you have in there now, it would serve a purpose, making it easier to see, and therefore safer to drive it on the street at night. With the HID conversion, the modification serves a purpose and is no longer a rice mod.

Fact is, that right now without the mod your car is not a rice rocket, because it has drivetrain and suspension mods. You as a person, however, are a ricer because you want to make your car look "cool" by giving it the sleepy eye conversion. You're just as bad as the rednecks that buy the Dale Ernhardt, Dale Jr., and Jeff Gordon editions of the Monte Carlo, because the only reason they own those is because in their eyes, those are "sweet" rides because the emulate their hillbilly idols. Those are riced out from the factory, because they are made to look like a racecar with their paint job and signatures, with no driveline or suspension mods.

 

Our cars are Japanese, so technically, we're all ricers. But hey, it's way cooler than a Mustang.
