slave cylinder

im doing an S5 Tii swap in to my 88 gxl, and i was wondering if i can use the slave off of my N/A tranny since its brand new. and when installing the slave cylinder, how do you get it in the release fork? do i have to have the tranny off? i cant get the push rod of the slave into where it fits on the release fork. seems like the release fork has to be able to move back. this happens when im installing the original slave for the Tii also.

you can use the slave cylinder on the t2 tranny no problem. and yes you do have to have the tranny off to put the fork where it needs to be to work properly. good luck with your project!

Wrong, na and TII have different slave cylinders. The slave needs to match the trans.

i just finished this swap you need to use the T2 secondary slave with the GXL you also have to swap the steel line as its a different length. which also means bleeding the clutch (most of the time)

well the Tii slave has a rubber hose. and i have an open line to, but for some reason it still doesnt fit. like it doesnt compress enough. and then i have this probem. when i first tried to bleed the clutch, it would stick. it would come all the way up, but when you push it, it felt like you were pushing on air. no pedal at all, but then it would hit about halfway, and feel like a stage 3 clutch. then when you release it, it would only come half way up and stay there till you pull it up again. so thats why i thought it would be my slave. maybe i should just pull the tranny and do the clutch.
