Question Single or Dual

The FCs comes stock with Dual Exhaust, but I've seen a bunch of them that have single exhausts. I want to upgrade my exhaust eventually, and I was wondering if it made a difference (performance wise) if you have a dual exhaust or a single exhaust?

If you plan anything more than regular city driving then drop the silencer, it's bad for the engine.

Different exhaut styles are mainly for personnal tastes and sound control.

Rotaries tend to have a very high pitched (and LOUD) sound. Racing Beat is probably the only company making an exhaust that sounds deepish and with a decent sound level. Single will yield more peak power but also increase dBs. If you just want an exhaust with a nice tone then go with Racing Beat (dual though).

Turbo or NA? The RB REV TII exhaust does a very good job of keeping the noise down. Keeps the car looking stockish so you get more of a sleeper look. If thats what your aiming for then RB is the exhaust for you. If you want a massive fart cannon to buzz around town with then look elsewhere.

I had APEX'i Dual N1s before. Loved the look and the sound was decent hum until WOT turned it into a ferocious roar. I've also had the Motoria single, but it didn't really satisfy my tatses the way the N1 duals did. 6/half dozen.

I was looking at the Apexi GT Spec Cat Back Exhaust. I found a video of one, but not on an FC or even a mazda. But it didnt sound too bad (deep sorta quiet), would it be similar on an FC?

Those cats ending at the end, look a little low dont you think?

Id go with the racing beat rev tii, and throw on a racing beat header. Im not sure how this sounds together but i would imagine amazing.

a few days ago i looked at a 88 accord with an Apix N1 catback kit and it had a nice deep sound to it(lol a honda) so im assuming it would make the rx7 deepish?

the sound a car makes with its exhaust is not determined solely by the muffler or cat-back system.

if all any car has is a cat-back system, yes it will sound deep and throaty; of course to the extent of the particular engines noise characteristics.

if you out a full exhaust on ie; headers, pre-silencer, silencer, resonator, mufflers

then the actual engine note will not change due to a muffler. more than likely if you have a very free flowing exhaust, you will get the engines natural sound; which in a rotary, is a high-pitched, metal rattling sound, no matter what muffler you got on it. because after all that, your muffler is just slightly doing its job(muffling)
