Simply Performance

My car is Bone Stock

It has a lot of miles like 120thousand, and im in AZ right now and its summer.

Should i bother to start upgrades?
What are the first things i should do?(excluding exhaust and intake)
In hot dry air is it better to have an intake or a stock setup?

get you fuel injectors cleaned and if need be replaced. Also, do you have a turbo II or a NT, you could always upgrade the turbo and/or intercooler for more power. Your can also get a Super AFC to tune your fuel delivery. this is just a couple of ideas, and this is the right place to get the rest of them.

Yeah i want to clean the fuel injectors or maybe even replace them with larger injectors and fuel rails
Is this somthing i can do my Self or is there serious
troubles here?

Does an Intake make a difference like a full cone or just a k&n filter?

www.rcengineering.com For the injectors. No reason to do this unless they are leaking and you're flooding a lot. Just get a K&N cone filter. I spent $125 on a Weapon R filter, it can't be cleaned, and it is blue in a red car. Look into eh\xhaust mods. I run (well ran before the engine popped) Racing BEat header, Racing Beat Presilencer, and N1 single muffler. Get a good clutch the very first thing. Also, look into weight reduction. I have no a/c, p/s, spare tire, jack, etc. Good luck, and happy rotoring!!

What year is the car? No need to worry about the pulsation dampener if it is a 89 or newer. Yeah, check the radiator and coolant syatem, espically in Az. I still say no good reason to get the injectors cleaned if it is not flooding....

Unless other serious mods are made, just putting larger injectors and a fuel rail will result in lower horsepower

The stock injection system is good for at least 200 HP which is more than 50 HP more than you are making now. Larger injectors would also require a S-AFC at the least or preferably a Haltec.

The RX-7 is not some econo-box FWD Honda, that requires bigger injectors before anything else just to make HP.

Is there really a need to compression test the engine is there is nothing wrong with it?
It doesnt back fire
or suck gas
or leak oil
im almost positive there are no leak and the apex seals are good it was driven very mildly before me

I think there is something wrong with some of the vacum hoses cause i have power loss in 3 gear around 4 grand
and it only happens every once in a while
Could be just be the plugs and wires?
