Simple question, please help me out.
I have an aftermarlet water temp sensor, and its not functioning. It is getting power, it lights up and all but just no read out on the temprature. I follow the wires from the gauge (there is one red and one white) and they go to the front passenger side right next to the radiator. The wires are spliced into a main wiring harness, i looked at the connection and it seems to be spliced fine but the gauge dont work. Is this the right place to wire in a water temp sensor?? Cuz it dont seem right and besides it aint workin. Can you guys tell me the right place to wire this water temp sensor??
Its an autometer, with 2 wires comming out the red and the white. Thanks.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!
You are NOT supposed to splice it into the factory harness AT ALL!!! the guage was supposed to come with its own sensor. You have to tap the thermostat housing and install the PROPER sensor. You can NOT use the stock thermosensor.

I see, well i wasent the one that installed this thing. It seemed wrong to me. Ok now 2 more problems, where do i get this sensor thats its supposed to come with and what do i do about this splicing on the wiring harness. I mean do i reconnect those wires or what, and what are they for??
Thanks so far

Well, i have no idea where it was spliced into, but you should never cut a factory harness. reconnect the wires and solder them, cover with heatshrink tubing.
as for the sensor, unfortunately, you have to buy one from ebay, or from autometer
good luck
