silicone hose for bonez catalytic converter?

I have a bonez catalytic converter kit from RX7.com and we seem to have lost the rubber hose that you use to connect the air pump metal pipe to the metal inlet pipe on the cat. Will silicone heater hose work or will it melt into amorphous goo?

If goo is the future, where can I get a replacement high-heat hose and what would I be looking for?

Thx!

The hose that is supplied with the Bönez cat is Purosil 80-050; specs are here:
http://www.purosil.com/heater.php

You can buy it by the inch here:
http://perfectionequipment.catalog.c...item_id=709415

This stuff is their 350°F hose; they also make a different version which is good to 500°F, but I couldn't find an online supplier with a quick search.

Try it - if it melts into goo, then you need the 500°F version!

Or you could find an old stock cat, and have a shop weld the flange onto your Bönez cat.

well the Split air pipe is about Three feet long, andf runs from the cat and ends up just behind the Passenger side of the engine..you Only need about eight inches of Hose,Max..If you are trying to Run a Rubber or Silicone hose To the Cat,then GOOD LUCK!..do you know HOW HOT a Catalytic gets?...you can fry Bacon on the damn thing!..by the time the split air pipe travels up to the engine it has dissipated most of the heat out of it...so,Personally,I am trying just to Get you NOT waste your money on Hose!..Go over to the Sec Gen For sale Section and put up a Wanting to buy for a split air pipe..or Fabricate your own..
