Flasher box meaning??????? New/used CPU?
You might make sure the fuse is good. Or try the HAZARD button and see if you get a flashing or not. I believe the HAZARD is on a seperate fuse.
Or pull the plug off the CPU and turn to left or right with the switch and check to see if your getting voltage on the wire AT the CPU plug when you do that. If you don't then the flasher ain't a gonna work. And if you don't get the voltage, then see if the fuse is good or not.

Sounds like the wrong turn signal switch is being used with the wrong series light switch harness.
If you have a S5 turn signal switch it needs to be used with a S5 light switch harness, and a S4 turn signal switch needs to be used with a S4 light switch harness.
