Show me your header wrap!

I have some downtime in-between races and well long story short the no heat shields and high rpm radiating from the RB header is melting my factory sound deadening on the inside of the cabin.

I have a bunch of wrap laying around but I have seen a few variances.

but my question is with that small clearance right before the header meets the collector, is there enough room to double wrap? or just wrap each runner then do a wrap about both pipes.

Please show me some pics of your wrap jobs!

not a header but same difference, DEI carbon header wrap.
for straps you can get stainless band straps for about $3 for 10 from harbor freight.

whole point is to keep heat from the exhaust out of the engine bay and in the pipe, doesn't matter how you accomplish it.

when i wrap i tuck the end under the first wrap, like you would with a non sticky wire harness wrap, or an ace bandage and pull it tight. i do use a hose clamp, but its redundant

Redundancy keeps systems from failing as often You certainly don't want header wrap getting stuck around an axle.

By the time header wrap fails, it will be so brittle that if it got caught around an axel it would likely just tear the wrap and keep going.

I wrapped a 1 foot section of exhaust piping with dei wrap on one of my ninjas with a custom under tail exhaust I made. The wrap worked well in reducing heat, but after a few months of daily use was so brittle that when removing it, it literally fell apart. Bikes exhaust temps are not high either (except pos Harley's).

just about any header wrap is a one time use deal.

sometimes i use a spiral of safety lock wire around it all but i do like the look of the stainless straps better. the spiral winding keeps it intact longer, the straps just look more professional.
