Question Should I keep it? Give me your opinions.

Well, as expected they found it a total loss. Theyr'e giving me $6315 which i'm happy with, minus 700 if i retain salvage. The question is should I keep it for that or let it go? Its a 1990 TII with 90000 miles, both exterior and interior are in very good condition. I had a fire around the turbo area. I need at least part of the wiring harness, a new turbo, a new engine, supposedly I need a new intercooler although I don't see why. My ABS pump is leaking worse than average and probably needs to be replaced and my alignment is off. So give me your opinions, what should I do?

And I got so much because I have USAA and I was dealing with my insurance company, which is much easier. Also, I had a paper from the bank when I got my loan that said the car was worth 5900 before the new engine and turbo was put in.

I'm thinking I might turn it into a barely streetable monster, but then I'd have to drive a shitbox as my daily, and I'm not sure that it would be worth it.

I had an n/a, but I don't want to talk about that. Its difficult to suppress the rage of what my best friend did to it.

Oh, the other thing is that I still owe $2500 on it, and I have to pay the bank off immediatly when I get the check. So I have less money to put into fixing it, but enough for a downpayment if I get something else.

6315 - 700 - 2500 = 4115

TII with no engine $4115 and no loan..... I would definately take that.

Wow $4000 and a nice interior + exterior TII, thats sounds like fun. Hell instead of replacing the wiring harness and all other stock **** like that why don't you get an aftermarket EMS, then rebuild the motor with a larges street port, bigger rad blah blah blah, youwould be set.

Wouldn't an aftermarket EMS run about 2 grand? I know the complete harness is more than that from mazda, but I've got a friend who is a dealer so I can get cars from IAAI auctions, although I have yet to see an rx7 there.

LOL! The problem is that in the united states we let EVERYONE go to highschool, not just the smart kids. Just kidding 13bpower, I can do calculus in my head, but I can't add or subtract either.

Microtech EMS should not cost you more than ~$700-800 complete.

Whatever u want to fix, check before buying original parts if aftermarket is not at same price of cheaper and better value than stock.
