Should I go pick this up?

I found this car a while back originally he was asking $1500 because it would start and run and he thought it was fuel injector issues, then he informed me that it was fixed but I never went and bought it. Now he says it's random when it starts. What do you think?

Sounds to me like it's a fuel issue maybe the compressor?

Hell yeah pick it up. Worst case scenario the motor is shot and you part it out making your 500 back, then some more on top. Best case scenario, you fix it and have a running fc for cheap.

He said that a while back that the spark plug wires were crossed and that had fixed it for a while and now it's having its issues. What would crossed spark plugs do to a rotary?

I'm willing to bet that the motor is just shot out.

Even then this is a good buy. $100 hood, $50 mirrors, $150 motor core, $100 tranny and at least a $600 shell..

Hell, that's 2x your money back right there.

if your not experienced in rx7s stay away from it unless you either have $$$ to dump into it or know someone who can help you with parts and knowledge. There is no $ to be made on this car so don't "part it out" you will be wasting your time. To the guy who said the shell is worth 600? LoL,...I had a RUNNING COMPLETE FC for sale for 500 and no one wanted it!. It is a buyers market right now for rx7s and if this is your 1st one your probably better off just buying one that drives/runs correctly rather then buying a problem car hoping to fix it cheap because most likely its need an engine rebuild and if that's the case a professionally built engine would cost more than the car is worth, MUCH more.

start searching the midwest threads for someone selling an s4 na engine from a parts car/wreck. That's worst case scenario obviously assuming its not something fixable but who knows what the problem is.....

That's what I just did. I'm apart of a rotary group and asked if anyone has one for sale.
