CA Should I get it?

Hey everyone,

This the first time im posting on this forum in about 6-7 years. I used to be on here a lot back in high school but I been busy i guess? hah.

Anyways i've been looking to get a cheap commuter car to go between home and work (about 40 miles round trip) every day. I don't want to invest too much cash into a car because I might be moving in a year and probably won't be able to take the car with me. I wasn't initially thinking of getting an FC3S, but i ran across this post and am very tempted. I've always wanted an FC3S Turbo II.

What do you guys think? would it make a decent commuter car? and is that a reasonable price for that car? I asked him to send me some details on the engine rebuild (i.e. why it was rebuilt and who done it). It'll be a real fun car to have but I need to ensure it's something i can rely on to get me to work without breaking down.

-Q

PS: i hope im posting in the correct section. wasn't sure if this should go in the Sale/wanted section or here, but yeah please give me some opinons.

Thanks!

that ones pretty good (if engine is in good shape). just get the missing pieces and and if you don't mind painting it then its a good deal.

How much do you think it would run to get the missing pieces...i mean not counting the stereo because i can put in something of my own liking for that...but the side paneling and emblems?

Im not too concerned about paint job because it's just a commuter but i guess a paint job can be had for 400 bucks or something right?

pretty good deal for a freshly rebuilt T2 with goodies. if it runs strong i'd take it. plus it's a 10AE, that's even better.

Um, he neglected to mention that one of the missing pieces is a FRONT BUMPER. Seeing as that's the case, I wouldn't trust him to be exactly forthcoming. Get it compression tested If you can see good compression numbers for it, then do it!

Yeah I noticed the bumper to and wasn't sure if that's why he put "as is" or what. I don't really wanna go through hassle of finding a new bumper and all that becuase I need it as soon as i buy it to be my commuter (im driving my brothers car right now but I want to get it back to him).

But thanks for the thoughts guys!

Looks legit, just remember to get a bumper from him if he sells to you for 2900. Without a front bumper it's incomplete and you should offer $1k.

It looks like hes trying to hide the fact that the bumper is missing ...but WHY?
Was it in an accident? Frame issues if so...........Receipts for the motor Warranty?.

Just dont make a claim as to being an AE with all the AE stuff missing!

Im starting to shy away from that car just because of all the questions you guys are putting up. THe front bumper being gone (and the fact that he didn't post that information) is definitely putting up a red flag. Im looking at another rx7 from the sale page on this forum. Hopefully that works out...

I emailed the guy about the car i posted above, and he hasn't replied yet. I'll see how he explains the front bumper and everything else and let you guys know!

Thanks once again.

______________

here is the link to the other car im looking at https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=720136

he sent me a link to a start up video to:

The only thing 10AE I see on that car is the wheels. It's missing badges, tail lights, etc. Ask for some interior pictures. What else was special about the 10AE's interior besides the steering wheel and leather?
