should I buy this FC?

The car is a 10ae with 44k original miles, immaculate interior and virtually perfect paint. The car however does have minor rust on the body right next to the hatch on the passenger side (about the size of a fingernail clipping). It is also showing signs of rust on the sunroof. The antenna s broken and so is the wiper fluid. The exhaust needs to be replaced. The person is asking 7500. Should I go for it, ask for the price to be lowered, or pass?

-on a side note, how hard is to remove small surface rust?

Thanks

I wouldn't say that is a good deal, but it does sound like a pretty mint car. I would say point everything out that is wrong and show him a KBB printout to try to lower the price.

perfect 87gxl for 3800 goddamn thats alot. He is talking about the rarest TII here in the states, Man 7500 is kinda high, but if you could talk him down to 6000 or so i would prob do it, i have seen similar go for about that.

surface rust is easy to remove, most of the time some 180grit sand paper, and some metal wash will clean it all off,

And that is? No 86-88 NA is worth more than $2500 in my book. Hell, 87-88 turbos in good shape arent worth more than $3500 IMO. We do like these cars, but we're not talkin about friggen ferarri's here, we're talkin about 13-18 year old mazdas.

IMO that 10th may be worth $5000 to the right buyer. Note that I said *may*. I usually see them go for the $1500-4000 range though.

watch out for the rust spots

I am also looking for a FC but i don't got 7grand to spend. I agree that 7 grand is wayy too much but the mile and the condition makes the car very attactive. But if i am not wrong if a car rust spot, especialy on a surface that use to be paint. The whole panal or area have to be repainted or it would cost a few hundred for a body to shop to get rid of the rust repaint and match the paint around it.

'Update'- The seller has agreed to lower the price to 6500 and that is as low as he will go.
