I have the Mazdatrix, cost like $180...buzzes/rattles like some of the FC's are prone to do, but definetely worth it!

higgi, i'm guessing from the pictures that yours doesn't have rubber glued between the upper and lower portions like the stock shift does it?

have you noticed more vibration from the new shifter compared to stock?

no rubber, i think mine looks like mazdatrix (i have seen it only in mazdatrix's website tough)

if their is vibrating in some cars, mine would be probably same in this, but it depends ....

Interesting thread --

Thought I'd do some math --
$192.00 Our short shifter
WITH new inner boot (virtually always needed when changing, installed on new lever my us),
+ upper and lower bushings, "groove" bushing.

$24.18 for inner boot
$ 8.53 upper bushing
$ 7.96 lower bushing
$ 7.14 groove bushing
-----------
$ 47.81 for what we consider NEEDED parts

$192.00 kit
- 47.81 (above parts)
------------
$144.19 for lever with spacer rings and longer bolts.

How many would everyone like for ~$150 each ??
Have lots on the shelf right now.

(also, btw, **** thread diameter and shape of the lever below the **** (in the U.S.) changed in '89)

my bushings and boots are all one month old so they should be fine. wonder if your shipping is lower than the 8% sales tax i get from mazdatrix :P

Higgi do you have a pic of your Momo/Short throw setup? Im interested to see the height of it. Also, how much would you say you could hack off the top then using a Momo Ball. Im talking a small one too, race air leather.

i will post picture of my unhacked one with Momo shifter later this week once i will see my car...

i belive u could cut about half inch...if u guys want to cut more, i will have top redesigned.....actually i might make 2 piece shifter which will have some rubber between lower and upper part and i will make 2 lengts of upper part...stock lengt and lets say 2cm shorter lengt

general info about stuff...currently made shifers are 12x1,75 now, i still have like 6 of them and need to sell them before i could invest other money into new ones....interest of 5 of u guys would not push me to making 50 kits tomorrow....since i have other activities, i don`t expect flying to USA sooner than for New Years or in January....if i will have money as i do expect in December, i will get made 50 kits, half S4 and half S5 thread, hopefully 2 piece with rubber between pieces....and i will bring them to USA in January....

i will have other stuff too, not just shifters...

I want this thing short as possible, but your also keeping it as functional as a short throw shifter should be.

Dont forget the pic. Ive gotta see it.

VERY Nice Higgi!

Are they welded or Billet? Sorry if it's been mentioned prior. I'd be intrested in getting one a little closer to Christmas time myself! Keep it updated, and give mazdatrix HELL! (They haven't gotten me my seals yet!)

I've got the FC Forum LOCKED DOWN!

they are cnc machined from steel, nothing welded....was mentioned before and u could see it from pics...

since someone was asking about rattling, we are going to redesigned them, make it 2 piece with rubber between them (like stock ones)......2 piece design would let us make one lower part and few different upper parts (different threads, different leghts or adjustable lenght without cutting)

I have few ppl interested in getting them before xmas..well i will try...
