Shortblock....Longblock......What's The Difference?

Does anyone know the difference between shortblock and longblock 13b's? I hear the terminology sometimes in the for sale column, please explain.

It's not just rotary engines, it applies to all engines..

Shortblocks are just the basic block with the bottom end totally put together. So you can expect the oil pump installed, front cover installed, etc.

Longblocks are motors with the cam, heads and intake manifold installed, which doesn't apply to RX-7s, but if I were buying an RX-7, I'd expect the upper/lower intake manifold to be installed on the engine as well.

Now, I could be totally off base, since I've never bought a 'long block' 13B before.
