OK you have asked about short shifters twice now, just buy one. It feals like a game's shifter when you first shift it if you have never felt one before.(It's fun)

Why would you do that, I dought that their is that much difference in an S4 and S5, and if there is it isn't that noticable.

Just buy one. I bought and installed the mazdatrix one a couple weeks ago and it was an easy install and great fit. The throw is so much shorter it feels like a different car. I have not driven it yet with the shorty installed due to a blown engine but it's at Mazdaspeed now and should have it back in a week or so.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to remove the plate retaining the assembly to Install, or remove the shifter. You don't need to remove the plate.

The shifter assembly Is easily accessable by removing the 3 10mm bolts encompassing It.

I'm saying this based on my observations. Coincidently, when I swapped Interiors off an s5 TII, I swapped In an s5 shifter. A week later, I got the Momo Apache ****.

My friend and I put my s5 shifter into his 10AE which as all of you know is a s4. Its not a noticeable difference at all. The only reason he kept it in was so he could use his momo shift **** since it wouldnt fit on his s4. In short, but a mazdatrix short throw, you wont be dissapointed I had one and loved it, until i sold my car

I agree, it was hell getting mine out. Needless to say, I didn't waste the time to put it back in.
