shooting flames

i see videos of rotarys and there shooting flames out the excaust why is this or did they just set it up to do this

straight pipe plus running a little rich = flames.

Black marks on your bumper is cool! You have to really rev it up though to get them to come out but it's a great site to see. FLAMES followed by a loud BANG!!! Gotta love a straight pipe.
