hey, in the next summer or two when i rack up enough spare cash to bring a TII home to admire for days and days i think im gonna end up buyin it out of the area because they're pretty difficult to find for sale in the middle east coast..

im even thinking about PAYING someone on this list in a year or two like 100 bux to find me a nice car in cali...hey getting 100 bux to find a perfectly well running car aint bad..

my question is..how much does it cost to have them damn cars freighted across country..? i'd think some bit of money..or i could just..buy a plane ticket and enjoy the 3000 mile trip back..

 

my dad had his car shipped from NY to FL and thats 1500miles...with the money it cost to do that he could have bought a TII in perfect condition lol

There are transportation specialist that will "truck" your car. You can get an online quote. Just use your brower and type in "automobile transportation". Just about $1k, cross country.

 

Cost me about $800 to ship my '72 Honda N600 door to door from NJ to CA. Mabye a bit more for a 2x heavier car though. It made the trip w/ no apparent damage-amazing to me

Ya it is pretty hard to find a good t2 around here. If i find one thats in the middle states somewhere im gonna fly over and drive it back. Can we say ROAD TRIP. i love driving cross country

 

We are in Florida and had to get to a race in California. Someone rearended the trailer and we didnt have time to get it fixed in time to make the trip. Long story short we got the car to the AmTrak Station and used the AutoTrain service. This was 4 or 5 years ago and it only cost $389.00 for the car.

 

I heard there are a lot of 7's in New England. They seem to have a really active forum. Have you tried looking around there?

If you don't want to deal with potential rust problems (I don't blame you), you could try finding a car in GA or FL. Plenty in either state, lots closer, and probably comparable in price. Plus, you don't have to deal with the CA emissions, although I hear the MD/Upper VA/DC is almost as bad.

Before you go jumping to conclusions about where cars are, you should spend some time thumbing through the "For Sale" forum here, as well as checking Auto Trader, E-bay, Yahoo Auctions, etc.
