I think it would be really beautiful, but I bet that stuff is really expensive.

I've been considering this color myself for the TII... I think it would look damn good. The pictures don't do the paint justice though, you really have to see it up close and in person. Yeah, I'd say it isn't cheap either.

Someone on the forum has painted their car a similar color. I'll try to look it up.

I stand corrected. I thought I had read that he had a different color than stock.

Sure enough 1988 was the only year I saw claret mica listed.

Hmmm- I wonder if my 88 vert would look out of place in claret mica...

Although it is a stock color for that year, I don't know if the verts were offered in that color...

You'd just have to get the paint-code and bring it to your local paint shop. They can have it mixed for you.

Ok, just thought I'd post since I JUST saw one of these in our parking lot!

The colour is REALLY neat in person - nothing like the pics!

From far away it looks pretty much like a metallic black. As you get closer, it takes on a sort of "Rootbeer" look. A mix between Brownish-bronze and a hint of purple. Right up close you can see the red. It's a deep - almost purple red. With the metal flake, the overall effect is very subtle but VERY effective. I was worried it would look like a ricer "colour change" paint job, but that is not the case at all. The colour is great, and up close it is really detailed - same sort of effect that CYM has.

I hope that the guy washes his car over the weekend so I can see it shiny in the sunlight! I should snap some pics.....

EDIT:
Here are a couple outdoor pics. I have to say it looked less purple in "real life" but you get the idea:
