shifter is super sloppy

i started taking apart my shifter today because it was starting to get really sloppy trying to shift. i took it apart and i noticed there is no rubber bushings of any kind. is there supposed to be? do i need any of the bushings on here http://mazdatrix.com/g4.htm to get my shifter tight again? thanks.

1. take the shift **** off
2. take the adjustment nut off
3. take the plastic housing off around the leather( the leather is attached to the plastic square)
4. pull the 2 upper shifter boots off
5. if the lower boot is cut away enough you will see 3 bolts under it, unscrew them
6. slide the metal peice off
7. pull the shifter out

look inside and see if there are 2 rubber ring bushings, if you cant tell what im talking about then they probably arent there. mine are completly gone. you can get em from a mazda dealer but you can get em from here http://mazdatrix.com/g4.htm. mines that bad too its hard to find gears when im shifting real fast. sorry for no pics, ill try to find my camera if you need me to.

its easy, if you wanna change the whole boot even the lower one, that metal plate with the 4 bolts that holds it in its a bitch to get out. i tried and almost did then i stopped cuz i was afarid of breaking something.
