Shifter bushing replacment...

Sooo Im ripping apart my shifter assembly because the rubber boots are torn and breaking apart, and low and behold, I have NO bushings left. Not a sign ANYWHERE???

So Im going to order the kit and boot kit and replace them.

My question is, where the heck are the other bushings??
How do I clean this out properly so nothing gets horribly messed up.

Thanks .

One more question...
Do you think my transmission is screwed up if...

The Ujoint was torn in half, seperating the drive shaft, and the mounting for the shifter boot plate (what holds the boot to the frame) has a torqued mounting screw hole? (the sheetmetal has been twisted)

I can take a pic if thats not clear...

I'm replacing my brushings too. I've alread obtained the brushing kits that I'll need. This is the write up that I'll be using to guide me. I hope this helps.

That must have been exciting.

The gear selector sits in a small isolated pocket.
You can clean it out & add fresh gear oil without affecting the tranny.

Here is my pic of what's inside:

I'd check the tranny tail bearing for damage & wear.
Just stick the shaft in & feel for play.

Maybe replace the rear seal also.

Well.... ****....
I was just out there checking things out, wondering why when I jacked up the car tranny fluid DUMPED out.
Well I know why now...

The whole shifter control arm that is mounted to the tranny is sheared off. It acutaly broke the casing so its not reparable unless you guys know how.....

If you could stop by my house & pick it up, I'd give you my old broken 91NA tranny (with a chipped input gear).

Maybe post in your regional forum or the parts forum for something like that near you.
