My shifter actually fell apart while shifting... it's not the ***...looks like the "stick"was attached to another shaft to the box, It lifts off, and it doesn't seem like it screws back in.

 

If you need the chrome shaft to put into the transmission that the ball screws to, I've got one from my 88 vert. You can have it for the postage. It will not fit the 89-91 ***** though, so it depends on what year car you've got.
