Yeah, my shift up light never worked until a few days ago. I was adjusting the height and play on my clutch, when I noticed the switch that detects when the clutch is up. I guess there was supposed to be a screw there, but there was just an empty hole, so the switch went in the hole, and didn't work. I found a screw that fit in there, because I figured it would keep my car from starting without pushing in the clutch(my car will start no matter what). Nope. That didn't work. All it did was light up that stupid light.

So........to turn it off, just unplug the switch that the clutch pedal arm hits.

DO NOT unplug the clutch switch. That switch is used by the car to properly control the cruise control, emissions equipment, and netural safety switch.

Instead, just remove the bulb from the instrument cluster.
