Question shift light install

I just got a shift light (traded for an intake filter). I was wondering if any of you guys have wired one in and how to do it. Oh and about the accuracy thing, what should i set the thing at 4,6, or 8. Im going to wire an adjustable resistor thing so i can just set it at where i want it.

thanks in advance

Is it an aftermarket shift light? The OEM one that comes on some rx-7s is wired into the ECU. All it does is tell you the best time to shift for good MPG.

ok so its in now. works like great. the green wire goes into this sleeve connector thing (wire with female crimp) coming off the front-bumpermost (leading?) coil wiring. set the switch in back of the light to the lowest setting (4 cylander?).

yup when I hooked up my tach and shift light, you have to set it like a 4 banger because it fires like one.
