shift hitting first and hard second gear

Well guess about 3 or 4 months back I had a clutch replacement cause the old one had a dead bearing, so it shifted pretty smoothly when I first had it, now about 4 months later it's occasionally hitting something going to first and 2nd's just hard to get into, 4th and 5th are always fine, 3rd's tiny bit resistance. Any ideas?

36.8k on the tranny, possibly 1k on the clutch. The original clutch when I got it was pretty much fuxored, it would hit first and sometimes second occasionally before the bearing started making some noise and grinding first constantly (only drove to the shop that day so hopefully first wasn't messed that badly). I'll go into 1rst and 2nd smoothly from stop with the exception of hitting 1rst at once in a while. Only reason is I've sort of had this problem before, and getting a new clutch apparently fixed it, now it seems to be slowly coming back.

Oh, can't shift into reverse at times, sometimes takes like 3 trys before it'll go in. Just wanted to get some opinions, cause if it's not really damaging, I'd like to sit on it for a bit till something shows up, been spending a bit much already.

my tranny does all this, but it has 170k on it. are you 100% sure the tranny only has 36k on it?

Check the fluid levels in the transmission and the turret (where the shifter goes into). If they're low, then fill them up. That could be the issue. It sounds like your synchros are dying. Try switching to Redline, Royal Purple or NEO gear lube. This can greatly help old, worn synchros live a lot longer with less wear, grinding, noize, etc.

Don't go straight into reverse. With clutch in go from 3rd to 4th, then into reverse. Might be a little bit smoother.
