Shift buzzer not buzzing

I think that my 8k rpm shift buzzer in my s5 has died. During the last week I have notice three times when it was not audible, one time I think I heard the faintest noise of a buzzer. Is this a cpu solder issue or a buzzer replace issue?

My Car has 171,255 miles on everything ecept the engine (and driveshaft). Is it possible the buzzer could be worn out. Lol, have I stayed in the red too much? Maybe the previous owner did more than a red line a day or week, or w/e

Also, my car is seeing some outside hot sun time for what may be the first time in years, At night I'm parking it inside. (This is just in case it could be a temp thing (but it happened (no buzz) tonight after sitting outside in the cold during a soccer game)

I could prob get a cheap buzzer from radioshack, but it would lack the RX-7 sound.

I suppose I could have knocked some solders on the actual buzzer loose, I'll have to check that this weekend. Basically my wiper switch is bad and abusing my dash is the only way to get them to turn off.

The buzzer appears to be on the circuit board on the back of the instrument cluster. There appears to be enough space to desolder and remvoe it. As for a replacement component, I don't know where to find one. I redid the solder joints on mine since I have never heard mine either.

If the buzzer is really bad, you can replace it with any 12 volt buzzer, however you may need to just mount the replacement loose, just soldering it to a couple of extension wires rather than soldered onto the circuit board.

I do rebuild wiper switches and have single (front only) wiper switches already rebuilt in stock.
check out my website for details
