Shift boot retainer/collar

I'm thinking of putting a short shifter onto my 1988 RX7, and have a question. On my car, the leather shift boot is sort of tied onto a collar which screws on to the ****. If I switch to one of the Miata short shifters, the thread pattern will be M10x1.25 and my shift boot collar won't screw on. With the S5 cars, did the leather boots have a M10x1.25 collar, and if they did, what's the part number? Most of the aftermarket stuff I see is either M12x1.25 or M10x1.5.

I just don't want my shift boot sliding down the shifter all the time.

Thanks

the newer cars just use the taper of the shifter to hold the boot, so they got rid of that collar/jamb nut thing

Thanks so much!

I'll probably just keep the collar on the original boot as it's the M12 size and slide it down onto the 10mm shifter.

I love it when it's an easy solution!
