I don't really like the idea of the tag sliding all over the dash, but thanks for the idea!!

A buddy of mine used those clear suction cups you use to hold up stuff on a window, put one at each corner, and hung it in the upper right hand of your windshield!

Hey, this guy is from Puerto Rico. Are 2nd gens really popular there? He says so. I was just wondering....

you might as well not display it. you'll still get pulled over and if you're unlucky you could get a ticket. the reason they require a front license plate is because the police use it as a target for their radar guns. it's also the law...

Don't put it in the windshield, that's stupid. Just carry it with you. Tell the cop someone just bumped into your car and you had to take it off before it fell off, or some other bs. Besides, it's only a $10 fix-it ticket.

Mine fits on my dash tight up against the windshield. I just got tired of having it there so I keep it in my compartment bins. I've only been pulled over once, and I just showed it to the cop and said I didn't have a bracket for it, and I just stuck it on the dash, and said I'd leave it there until I got a bracket. Cop let me go.

I wish we could get the offset ones like I see all the time in the pics from Japan...(the ones mounted off to the "passenger side" 'drivers for US)

I've heard of some people putting the plates on a hinged support in the center of the nose. This is so when they are up to speed, the plate is pushed flat and doesn't get in the way of the radiator or oil cooler. When you slow down, it comes down. The only way a cop can tell if it is hinged is if he gives it a nudge.

Another thing you could do is just run with a bra and hold the stupid plate in the bins. I mainly do this because a 89 Beige GXL is kind of plain and plus that nice paint chip on my nose. Everything works out in the end and plus I am **** about the bra so it is never on when it snows or rains.

I have mine zip-tied onto the grill thingie in the main opening, hanging down past the edge and then folded up under so the plate isn't as big as it ought to be. I've got a fluidyne radiator in there tho so I don't worry so much about not enuff air...

Im required to have a front plate, but it has never left the plastic it came in, I just threw it in my bin, had my car almost a year now, been pulled over several times and they've never said anything about it!

when i bought my car used 9 months ago the previous owner didn't have the license plate nor could he remember even when he had it on last....so i don't have a front license plate here in Los Angeles and haven't had any trouble yet, though a friend of mine was pulled over for not having a front plate on her mercedes M-class (crazy women drivers in their suvs ). my friends 7 has some nasty grooves/indentations from his front license plate brackets...i think i can do without those until i am forced to get new plates for my car which i will have to pay for *sigh*

Maybe you could drive with your arm out the window holding the plate towards the direction of travel. Might run into some sore arm problems at high speeds, but who knows, you might be really strong!!!

I may have the front licence plate bracket off my '91. I took it off saturday and was going to throw it away. It may still be in the trash can. Let me know if you're still looking for one before trash day =)
