shady mechanics and engine swap

my 89 NA broke an apex seal and i know its not worth a rebuild (especialy with the only guy in my town that can do it charges 3500)!! He sais he knows how to work on sevens so he has my car at his shop right now. I come to find out hes having trouble finding an enine to replace my old one with, and doesnt want to be held accountable if its ****...but he sais if i find one he can do the swap. The CATCH is i finally got my parents to consoider a TII swap (thanks to the fact that i need a new motor anyways) SO im asking you guys if you know a company which sells TII motor with the needed components for the swap...such as ecu, wiring harness, blah, blah, and im keeping my s5 na tranny.....but there needs to be a decent warrenty, and they cover the mechanics work (according to my parents)...thanks alot

you'll be hard pressed to find any company that's selling a whole rotary swap(AKA< jspec clip) with a warranty...

Your best option may be to find a jsec, with everything included, then have it rebuilt. You would want any warranty involved to be serviced locally anyway. Be prepared to spend more than 3500 if you can't do the work yourself.

For some reason, people haven't figured out that TII's don't grow on trees. They can be had to locate, and are the prefered engine swap, including many of the 1st geners.

theres a guy selling 2 front clips onthe forum right now. and as far as covering a mechanics warranty on the auto parts seller end it will never happen unless its a certified mechanic for them.

I think the question would be, what do you want to spend? Its not as easy as just buying the clip or the long block. And most likely you will have to source parts from other places. You can buy the turboII harness and ecu either on ebay or on the forums. Make sure you get same series motor as your car, or your gunna have to source out even more parts.. Some people sell the 2 series for different prices, some offer them for the same price.

talk to BoostedRex here on the forums, he is selling his engine(very low mileage 'race ported' rebuild), harness and ECU since we will be doing his 13BRE swap. car runs great and i will be pulling the engine for him but he will be leaving for the desert soon (he's in the military) so i would work out a deal with him soon if you are interested.

i'm not sure about the specifics of the race port, i am only repeating what i know about his engine.

it is an S4 but with the harness, ECU and engine the swap it is basically complete, the only thing you would need to change is the flywheel to an S4, the emissions are removed however so you would need those pieces but i don't think they would be too hard to find on the for sale section if you even need them that is.
