what makes you think I want a panspeed hood? and what makes you think I'd rather spend $1000 for a hood I don't want when I can get a hood I do want for $550 or less?

and also, for the people bashing the replica aero parts shine is making... do you honestly think this is hurting the japanese companie's business?
out of all the people that have bought anything from shine, how many people do you think would have actually spent the money to get the real authentic one from japan if shine hadn't produced it? (if they could even find the part available). I bet very very few, if anyone. if someone has the money to get the real stuff, they're probably going to get it anyway just so they can say its authentic. I doubt shine has taken ANY business away from the any of the japanese manufacturers who's parts they are replicating/

My appologies to all. I typed before I thought and I would like to offer to have my posts removed from this thread and I feel that all posts off topic after mine should also be removed. I am truly sorry for the problem I have caused here.

Sorry for the jack but it is closer to on topic than my last posts and several others (again my appologies for starting that)

They havent made the bumper for the 2nd gen in so long that I cant find a pic but it is basically the same and uses the 99 rx7 turn signals.

I am going to have one made one way or another.

its a cool design...personally i think it'd look better on a second gen is it was a lil more boxy to match our cars lines and came off the FTPs or something...the 99spec are just too curvy and dont match the car well...but its a style thing and everyone has their own preference

The hood will benefit a stock setup too.......

Its just that it will benefit a setup with an e-fan more...and a v-mount setup even more yet.

But just because you're stock under the bonnet - doesn't mean this hood won't aid your cars cooling capacity/ability.

get your wallet out!! hehe

(BTW, I would jump on this - but I live an hour away from 5one5 and will be doing up his custom reverse vetned hood once it reaches production - but best of luck boys - the more parts the better!!)

Ok ok. I didn't say don't buy from them, I just said buy genuine parts. maybe i'd say shine auto makes genuine knock offs/copies so buy them! I agree that they're cheaper, I have never seen the quality so I have no room to speak there, but as to copyrights:

Copyright laws grant the creator the exclusive right to reproduce, prepare derivative works, distribute, perform & display the work publicly. Exclusive means only the creator of such work, not anybody who has access to it and decides to steal it.

I find it interesting that if Shine is such a professional company why do they use Polyester resin as thier matrix material. Everyone worth thier salt who works with polyester knows that the very limit of 'SAG temp' is 200F. thats with the top of the line ISO based polyester resins..

Just a musing on the why's and how's of 'shines' reputation as a quality builder.. I don't see it in classic beginner errors like this.

Most of the FRP parts from Japan that ARE more money, are for a reason.. other then shipping costs and name brand markup.
