sevenspeed Grand Opening 11/24 near Pittsburgh

To better serve our clients, sevenspeed will be opening this weekend near Pittsburgh, PA. Sevenspeed is located in a beautiful 6500 square feet building, with over 1800 square feet of retail area and lounge. The grand opening on November 24th ,the Saturday after thanksgiving, will be a day-long Rx-7 extravaganza. During daylight hours, the party will be suited to families and children, featuring an hourly laser show by Lightwave International and free goodies for the kids. Show cars will be on display, see below, and the showroom will be fully stocked for your browsing pleasure – special prices will also be in effect. At night, the entire venue will be transformed into a European nightclub. A full-color 6 Watt Argon/Krypton laser producing a few TRILLION colors will be the centerpiece of this unique experience. Dozens of bounce mirrors are currently being aligned in the building’s steelwork to create unique patterns of intense colored laser beams above the audience. Special motorized remote mirrors, special effects, and fog machines will enhance the atmosphere. A special invisible laser screen will be used to project 3D images in full color above the audience, laden with Rx-7 imagery. A full concert truss is currently in place, and being equipped with almost 20 intelligent lighting fixtures including Technobeams, Studio Spots, AF-1000’s, and Emulators. Several DJ’s popular in the underground electronic music scene will be spinning, along with a special live performance by Sean Rudiman – well known for his soulful Detroit Techno [ full lineup TBA shortly]. Professional sound reinforcement will be in place, comprised of multiple speaker stacks. We will have pictures of the setup for this massive undertaking on the website by the weekend, and perhaps a preview video.

Would you like to show your car at our event? PM me, or email me Here with details about your vehicle. All rotary vehicles are wanted! We will allow submissions as space in our floorplan allows. We may even have an impromptu ‘how many rx-7’s can fit in sevenspeed contest’ and then attempt it with a prize for the best guess! 40 Rx-7's? 50 Rx-7's? There will photo opportunities to take long-exposure images of your vehicle engulfed in laser light and fog.

Directions and images of the construction progress can be viewed at sevenspeed.com -- we will update these pictures by the weekend to show the actual show setup in progress, as well as completed images of the shop area.
Never seen a real laser show? Don’t know what to expect? Visit these websites: lasershows.net - graphics shows as will be seen during the day. ravelasers.com - intense beam effects and 3D graphics as will be shown at night. Much more info to come. Sorry about the cross posting, but we would really appreciate a large turnout of all generations and rotary vehicles. Bring your friends, family, and kids. No charge for admission, just bring your rotary and plan on experiencing something you can’t anywhere else on the planet.

Who all is expecting to go to the grand opening so we have an idea.
I'm definately going, 30 minutes away. I can't miss it :-)
It'd be nice to have 4 or 5 other RX-7 Forumers there. Have our own little party

Uh oh..

Node, bring your car and lots of friends... as long as you leave your avatar at home! It could damage lots of expensive laser equipment
I did not know you were in the S. Hills -- we just had the West Penn Rx-7 club meeting there. Most of the members will be there next Saturday, so you can come and meet them. My 2nd gen is there, too, injured from getting rear-ended. I will still fire up the bridge port, and demonstrate the sequential transmission for those interested!
For those undecided, this will certainly push you to make the right decision: yes, that's right, a chance to meet 'turbo' the tailess cat, our shop mascot. She is sexy as all H*ll.

If I wind up going I would give you a ride, but I'm not sure if I want to drive all the way out there.

Mine is probably the most "frankensteinish." I have parts from so many different cars.
