setting the timing with high idle

ok ...

i have the timing marks just about dead on, but the problem is, the idle is atleast above 1100rpm

that means that the timing really isnt set right?

Your right. Some day when your idle is a lot lower, say around 750 give or take a hundred, put a timing light on the car and have someone/yourself slowly increase the rpms. You'll see that the marks will stay aligned as you increase the rpms UNTIL you reach somewhere b/t 1000 rpm and 1100 rpm where upon the marks will jump about ten-fifteen degrees. I forget which. I'm pretty sure it advances.

It sounds like your throttle stop screw is holding the throttle plates open. Or the fast idle screw is maladjusted????? Or????

the crazy thing is, ive been using the throttle stop screw to adjust my idle (it WONT idle below 1100 rpm)
, and so i did it again last night, and the screw is stuck ... it wouldnt turn at all ...

im going to take the TB off tomorrow, and see whats up ...

im gonna do some grounding as well, hopefully that clears up some of the problems....

i have some leaks... all of which i hope to take care of tomorrow

speaking of which ... other than honda bond, which is the best/cheapest gasket sealer that i could find at advance auto parts?

im going to completely coat all the plates, and manifolds in the stuff to try to get the vac leaks taken care of

Mayhaps...I like that. I little of "maybe", a little of "perhaps". The best of both worlds.
