serpentine pulley conversion

if you can use an alternator from a 3rd gen and a water pump from a 3rd gen on a 2nd. gen, both of them having serpentine pulleys, then what would be stopping you from installing the 3rd gen serpentine crank pulley and even the ac compressor or maybe just the ac pulley?

1) There is no way to put the stock viscous fan back on.  This almost requires you to go electric fan.

2) The aux bracket goes not fit on the 13BT correctly.  I think you can drill an extra hole to make everything fit.

3) Hoses are not guaranteed toi fit, since we're talking different components.  You might need to redo hose ends.

4) Water pump housing outlet is STUPID on the 13B-REW set-up.  The stock upper and lower radiator hoses (on the 13BT) will need to be changed.

I am currently trying to get these to go. I have a full Aluminum prototype Serpentine Pulley set that allows FC owners to run this setup. Nothing was done (as of yet) to accomadate FC owners who are running a FD Alternator. More will follow.

Yeah a serpentine setup specifically for the FC would be wonderful. Assuming it doesn't cost too much more then using 3rd gen parts i'd buy it!

Bump.

I'm certainly interested. Especially if it works an idler arm into the system, and works with my Power Steering.

Regarding the pully set that silverrotor mentioned. I too have been involved with this pully set. I'm not speaking for silverrotor when I say these things:

1. Very heavy. Much more so then the Mazdaspeed set.
2. Stupidly expensive. A little over $500 Canadian. I'm not normally one to complain about price, but damn...

In my mind, not worth it.

Very true Aaron except for the heavyness factor. It's got a good weight to It but I've felt lighter before. They were Aluminum Pullies though. Also, It was going to sell for about $400can.

Everything was a go but when I tabulated a final price to It I deemed the project a no go. I had a Rotary shop out west wanting me to sell these but I didn't want to commit to a project that wasn't 100%.

PM me on how I can direct you to the source for those who are Interested.

Hrm. One of the major reasons I want this is because I have to pull off my main pully to attach a 36 minus 1 tooth EDIS wheel. (To replace my CAS). I am also removing my A/C and Air Pump. So I would have to pull my alternator pully anyway.

I'm going to see if I cant score a set of FD pullies and make it work.

Silver, i am not too familiar with all of the parts involved, but would you be interested in making a kit to adapt the mazdaracing kit for AC and PS?
