Serious question...Want your alls input.

Heres the deal.

A good friend of mine has an 89 T2 that hes finally getting rid of. Its already got intake, exhaust, suspension, koyo radiator, black magic e-fan, misc gauges, mazdacomp hood, and a fresh motor. The part I like most about the idea of purchasing this car is I know the history of it personally.

The downside is its not in the best shape As of right now, it does not run ( though we have traced the problem to a faulty S-AFC or a short somewhere in the harness to the AFM ). The wiring doesnt really bother me because I plan to put a haltech in it as soon as I get it. The hood has a slight curl in it ( though it could be easily rolled out ) and there is a tiny amount of rust ( tiny tiny ) and the paint isnt all that great Driver side seat also is a little tore up...

The key part in all of this is that I could get it for 2,000. That also includes the old motor that was pulled out of it.

I REALLY want to get it but I fear that the more mature part of me is whispering in the back of my head.

So what would you all do?

You could resell it for twice that at least.

I would buy it, but try and get him down on price, I really set my limit at 1500 for a non running car, no matter what the issue is.

if all else fails and you can't get it running. What do you think can you easily part out 2g's from that car? I'ld say buy it.. for 2g's it's just begging from some Franklins and TLC
