Are you certain the 7.5 amp meter fuse is good? Checking by continuity is the best way to determine if it is good.

speedo is a mechanical gauge that has a flex line that goes to the speedo gear on the transmission. it likely wasn't plugged in correctly or at all into the back of the cluster.

the voltmeter works off the signal wire from the back of the alternator and runs into the ECU at the LF kick panel inside the car, start by checking the 2 pin connector off the back of the alternator and be sure it is plugged in and the wires are in one piece.

Clean the screw contacts in the back of the gauge.

They should be messing anything up so long as you haven't knocked anything loose in the process.

Try cleaning the screw contacts to the volt gauge. You might be surprised.
