Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not super experienced but I'm trying to help.
Things you should do...

1)Not drive the car until this gets sorted, trust me its not worth the engine.

2)After the car is completely cool, take of the radiator cap, start the engine and look at the coolant inside the fill hole, fill it up with a little extra coolant if needed, While the engine is idling, and the radiator cap still off check for bubbles coming out of the coolant, grab the throttle cable and rev the engine a little see if the is a steady stream of bubbles that increases when you pull the cable. you need an engine rebuild. This clip is a good example of a bad coolant seal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ORJPY-JJc0 , another on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcweM...eature=related
look for the little bubbles is the second video

3)Check for sweet smelling white smoke coming out of the tailpipes when u run the car. This is a good example of this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVmuc...eature=related ) However I doubt it will be that much smoke. Also don't freak of if there's a little smoke on start up that isn't always blown seals it could be from a flooded engine or a little bit of oil. Just make sure the smoke isn't sweet smelling. If there is white smoke it is a bad coolant seal and your engine is on its way out.

4)Open the lid of your overflow tank. Is there a strong exhaust smell in there. If so your coolant seals could be bad

5)Read this http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/overheat.htm

6)If you are confident that your motor is ok, and that you didn't blow your coolant seals read this. http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/cooling.htm

7)Also, since one of your hoses went I would recommend replacing or at least checking all of them.

If anybody has any corrections or something to add please post up.

Paulin, you are correct.

That first video was actually my car. It turned out to be a coolant seal and then some...
The front iron had a broken coolant jacket and so did the center iron on the rear rotor side.

I'm parting out what is good from that engine and I have a replacement waiting to be dropped in. I would have rebuilt it if not for the irons being ruined. The engine I have now only has around 80k miles on it and I paid a fraction of the price that I would have spent on rebuilding the other one. Hopefully I'll have her back on the road before the end of the year.

yeah man, it seems like it blew the main coolant seals insine the engine. not a pro with rotaries and not sure on what its called but this would be like a blown head gasket on as conventioanl engine. the only way out of this is an engine rebuild. all the best.

^^ Incorrect. This irons on which the coolant jackets broke are no good. He would need to get new plates, and yada yada yada. It is cheaper to just buy a motor and drop it in that has been rebuilt then to rebuild one yourself. There a lot of people going tii swap.

A running motor can be had for $700 running rebuilt. It also gives you spare parts, like rotor, housings and eccentric shaft. I would keep it em and use them for another rebuild. Or sell them, you can sell them for half the price of a rebuilt motor.

That is because your combustion pressure is going into your coolant thus geyser. Or overflow tank always overflowing

Do the first 3 test I posted, this will tell you if your seals are bad, if your seals aren't bad, read the link I posted and go from easiest to fix to hardest.
