Series 4 or Series 5 (Stupid question)
The s5 radio surround is better, but according to icemark, the rest of your interior pieces suck
actually the S5 plastics are worse and tend to crack out more often... much cheaper construction, and the optional cargo cover was standard on some S5 models and of course optional as a dealer available option on any FC (regardless of series).

No, you give me a break.
The s4 is a linear gauge that moves with the actual temp
The s5 gauge has 3 positions, cold, normal, and you've already cooked your motor.
At least if you have the stock gauges, you get more of a warning with the s4.

Force-proportionate? Fluid HARDENING? Do you have any clue how a differential works?
Here ya go: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm
Better looking, faster car. Argue that.
arguing arm rest size... what a waste of time.
Just out of curiousity... Do you just start everything you know about these cars with, "According to Icemark..."
Certainly a far cry different from your original claim of "can withstand more abuse". If anything, they can withstand much less abuse, since they wear out so quickly.

How does a Viscous LSD(VLSD) work? each output shaft of the differential is tied together by a device known as a viscous coupling. This is basically two slotted discs that have a silicon fluid between them. If the discs are rotated at a speed that varies relative to each other this produces friction which heats the silicon fluid up. The silicon becomes more viscous as it's temperature rises. There will be a point where the silicon will become viscous enough to hold the two discs together (this is why the discs are slotted, it is so the silicon will have something to grip to).

Since you love the dictionary....
hard·en·ing /ˈhɑrdnɪŋ/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hahr-dn-ing] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. a material that hardens another, as an alloy added to iron to make steel.
2. the process of becoming hard or rigid.
Hardness is a property of solids, not fluids. Nice try though.

OK, this is pretty funny. I didnt realize that asking about the differences would get such a heated debate going. I had no idea that the s4s and s5s had so many differences but I have never owned an S4. To continue the debate, are there any differences specifically relating to the Verts?
THAT'S Another one!
the vert has extra bracing to make it stiffer (and heavier).
the taillights are different
the gauge cluster surround is different
seats come with built-in speakers
doors/windows are different
no bins/rear seats
engines are the same as S4 and S5 so the same arguments as above apply.
I'm sure there are more but I have to get back to work. BTW, I hope you don't think this thread is a heated debate. This is mild compared to some of the really crazy threads.

I am aware of those differences. What I meant was, in addition to everything stated above, what are the differences between s4 verts and s5 verts such as the location of the vert top switch etc...
Also, I realize this is not that heated as I was reading the thread the other day titled something like "Do you prefer the FC or the FD and why". Now that was pretty heated.

HAHAHA the best is when the arrogant FD owners fight with the uber-butthurt second gen owners. Those are the popcorn worthy threads. Watch fools get banned/warned left and right and laugh. WHen it calms down go and poke the fire some more so we can laugh a lil longer.
There are many things that changed but it would get too technical to explain, things like better metal materials that were used for J-Spec vs US-Spec, etc...
But one of the obvious differences were that the J-Spec S5 RX7s had torsen LSDs unlike the shitty Viscous LSDs the US-Spec has.
