Separating rear trailing arm from hub carrier

Is there a trick to separating the trailing arm from the "toe control hub" (aluminum hub carrier)? It seams to be hung up on the two rubber bushings. I don't want to hit it with a hammer too hard. Manual just says to unbolt it. This is a 91 NA coupe.

thanks.

You can use an "idler rod seperator" or a generic pickle fork.
