Separate container for oil injection
Hey Guys,
I have no idea if this has been discussed before (sorry couldn't find using search, if there is a topic on this, please let me know) or if it is even a good idea.
I'm currently rebuilding my car and everytime I check if I need to keep something. One of the things that crossed my list was the oil injection. I've already desided to drop the system and go premix.
But when talking to a friend of mine another option became a topic. Would it be possible to add a separate oil container and attach this to the standard oil injectors? The purpose being to use clean fresh oil instead of the used oil from the carter and inject it the way Mazda intended. You'd probably need to add some sort of oil pump in the lines and figure out some way to controll the amount of oil being injected.
And would this really be an advantage over just premixing? Obvious advantage I find is that you could add a warning light if you're running out of oil and you will never forget to add the premix to the fuel. Also you could adjust the amount of oil being used to your needs.
But would it really be worth the extra hassle?

That's a pretty cool little solution, but it still leaves you with the chance that the OMP could still die on you at some point. That kinda scares the crap out of me, so I plan on just premixing and completly removing the OMP system.
I forgot who did it, but someone just took one of those fuel injector cleaner bottles and a huge bottle of good two cycle oil and found that those injector cleaner bottles hold the perfect amount and you just had to fill one up, keep it in your glovebox, and just dump it in when you fill 'er up.
