sensor on the water neck

theres a sensor that is on the water neck that hold the upper rad hose, do i really need that? im doing a turbo II ecu swap in a 1G rex and i will like to know. thanks

You can use it for aftermarket water temp gauge.

It's the water temp sensor for an electric fan that sits infront of the radiator. If you have no fan....then its probably a replacement filler neck from the wreck yard. There is a green wire with a black connector either on it or laying nearby.

Lets say I ditch the little fan... Can I remove the sensor and use that hole for an aftermarket temp gauge with no weird side effects?

thanks is because im doing a turbo II ecu and harness swap on my 84 gslse and the conector broke but anyway thanks.
