It looks like some sort of EGT sensor and probably is if you found it installed in an exaust manifold. It is NOT stock.

Actually it is stock, if you have the right car...

It's the cat temp switch that activates the exhaust heat warning light and also sends a signal to the ECU. On US models this is just a floor temp sensor under the carpet but on J-spec FC's the cat temp is sensed directly.

What do you mean by "the rev limiter still moves". The rev limiter is just some code in the ECU.

Well, you solved your own problem. You've determined that you have spark because when you spray starter fluid it starts up.

So it's a fuel delivery problem and most likely the fuel lines that attach to the engine need to be swapped. The JDM lines are opposite of the USA version. Takes moments to swap them around. Have at it.

Nah. Wrong country. Seems everything is upside down/backwards down there.....humor

i have switched the fuel lines twice now still no results.

I'm guessing its a sensor problem. It will turn over without pressing the clutch in. And it will try to start as soon as you let off the key from crank position.

If you jumper the fuel pumps check connector in the engine bay, and then turn the key to ON, you should be able to HEAR the fuel flowing through the fuel rails back into the tank.

If you don't hear that flow, then the lines are crossed. If you DO hear the fuel flowing back into the tank, then the lines are ok.

Fuel pump check connector is yellow in color with two sockets, located hear the right front strut tower and close to the boost/pressure sensor.

Don't forget the grounds that control the EFI.

Where is this relay???? Up in front of the AFM? or the one under the dash and above the steering column?

The one in front of the AFM assy won't have power unless the engine is running OR the key is in the START position.................OR if the key is to ON and the fuel pump check connector is jumpered.

How did you test this? Have you checked the ENGINE fuse? Have you looked at the wiring diagram?

I have just recently been down this very path with my jspec swap. Hailers will keep you right on track, just as he did for me. (thanks again Hailers)

Check to verify the fuel pump function as described above. Then check to visually verify the injector spray pattern. Search for a thread in which Rotary Resurrection gives advice about how to do this.

I found that my secondary injectors and primary injectors plugs were switched! Even after fixing this issue, I had to tow the car to start it because there was so much transmission fluid gunk in the combustion chambers from my repeated flooding and un-flooding procedures.

Good luck, you are closer to success than you think.

Should've used engine oil, since it is an engine...

Thanks for the diagram hailers. I checked my injectors and they are getting a constant .3 volts when the engine is trying to start.

I must not have enough fuel pressure or some thing. Fuel is traveling through the lines though. it is an s4 fuel pump running an s5 TII. Maybe thats why i don't know but its way over my head at this point
Another thing that confuses me is when i stop trying to start it As soon as I let the key come back from start position The engine fires up for a split second..

my coil pack was shorted out and my injecters were only getting 8 volts. I switched coils and now they are getting the full 12 and so is my main relay.

My fuel pump is getting 12V I get spark I tested it at the Ecu end but it Still does not run. It wil start for a split second right when to the key turned back from start position SOMETIMES. Fuel is going all the way through the lines and my injectors are geting the voltage but im still not getting any in my engine for some reason. Why is this?????
