sensor causing vacume leak

88,na,there is a sensor on the top/back/passenger side of the intake with a cap on the end and 2 vaccum ports on it , well mine makes a hissing noise/vaccum leak, is that bad?

plug it with your finger see if it runs smoother

i unpluggedthe lines from the sensor and blocked em off with my finger and it did seem smoother, it seems like a temp sensor, ive been searching with no luck, car does idle rough

cant anyone atleast tell me what sensor it is?im pretty sure its not supposed to leak, but i cat get a new one till i know what it is.
THE YELLOW CAP LOOKS LIKE A ****, AND HAS 2 VAC PORTS ON IT, AND ITS THREADED INTO THE INTAKE.
PLEASE HELP

Its prolly the water temp valve for the 2nd butterflies. there are no electrical connectors in that area. redo the vacuum hoses and see if itll idle better

That's the Water Thermo Valve for the double throttle diaphram. Air will suck at it's end when the water temp is above 140 degrees. See your local, online, free FSM and it's FUEL SECTION for non turbo cars for verification.

If the Double throttle diaphram is kaput, like most double throtte diaphrams I've seen, then I'd block off both vacuum lines going to the Water Thermo Valve (actually only the one that feeds vac needs blocking off).

The NOT ONLINE SERIES FOUR FSM shows the above on page 4A-57. I'm sure the online one on another page says the same.
