Secondary Fuel Injectors
Secondary Fuel Injectors
On my 86 NA, the secondaries need to be replaced/rebuilt. Since I know damn near JACK **** about under-the-hood stuff...can anyone tell me how to change them. Also, how long would this take?

If you are truely ignorant of underhood stuff, I'd suggest you get a mechanic to do it. It's not particularly difficult, but the results of getting it wrong range from a shitty runny car to a burnt out car!
If you can spin spanners OK, do a search. Someone will have a link to a how-to. Or get a Haynes manual.

Try this: http://personal.cfw.com/~rinaca/owners_inj.html I have never even read it, but read it and see if it helps. The secondaries are easy. Just pull off the inlet duct(large black outfit that goes b/t the air flow meter and the throttle body. You'll see the two injectors. Pull the plugs off. Remove the two bolts holding the fuel rail in place. Lift the fuel rail upwards until the injectors clear their bores. Pull the injectors out of the rail by pulling and twisting the injectors downward. Should do this on a cold car. There is some pressure in the rail, but if the car is cold and you have some rags under the area you should be alright. The primaries require the Dynamic chamber with the throttle body be removed to access them. Be sure to plug the four inlet holes with something to prevent a fod'd engine. This is going to take too long to write. I''d read the url above and see how well you like it. Bye.
