Seats (Tenzo's)

I need to replace the seats on my tII, and of course I'm on a small
budget, has anybody had any experience with the Tenzo Rally type seats? Like comfort, quality of build, and (one of the most important factors) weight? Thanks much in advance for the input.

Well I know Tenzo R makes knock-off ricer products so I don't think it will be the best quality.

Actually, I know someone that owns the tenzo Type R seats, and although they are knock-offs of the Recaro SRD seats, it has a very good quality in fabric and build.

ebay usually has them. Do a serch for tenzo-R or racing seats and you will see a couple of ads that will give you an idea of what they cost.

I have a friend that has them in his turbo Integra...Theyre very nice seats so long as youre not...meaty? hehe I dont know what word to use. Thick maybe?

Only comaplaint I have with them is they make you sit high..The shifter feels really low. Now ive never driven a stock Teg, so i dont know how high you normally sit.

Oh well..Im sure theres someway you can fix it if it is too high for you

Too high? I was considering these seats(cheap, good quality, umm... match my windshield wipers?) but I was told they would make you sit lower . I'm 6'1" and have ZERO room to give up near my melon. In fact, the reason I wanted new seats is to gain some head and foot room. I've seen this question posted a COUPLE of times in different sections. If you have these seats, PLEEEEASE speak up! A lot of us are very interested!

P.S. I've seen the rally seats for anywhere between $200 and $350 dollars. I'm betting that they could be had for $150 if you look hard enough...

Like I said, I have never driven a stock Integra GSR so I dont know. You probably feel that high anyways. Theyre great seats though. I love them.

But back to the question?

Does anyone know if they raise the seat level in an RX-7?

Its all about how you install them
If you go using some cheap braket adaptor on the stock sliders it probably will raise the seats even more.
Or you could build custom brakets and get a couple inch drop.
Of if your like me you you bolt them straight to the floor and gain about 5 inches of head room.

This is just in general with aftermarket seats. I've never used the Tenzo-R things. My feeling is any company with a '-R' or 'Type R" in the company name isnt worth buying.

The guy I know with the Tenzo seats drives a 96 civic hatch, and he says the seats make him sit at least 2" lower. Hope that helps..

BTW, you mean you guys wouldn't buy anything from R-Magic??!!

My friend has a pair of the black rallys and they seemed comfy to me. I believe it does make you sit higher though, and I felt like I was sitting a little high when I was in his car.

The link below has the rally for like $250 a piece. I believe my friend got a pair of brackets, sliders and seats for 6 bills flat. But if you plan on bolting them to the floor (if you know no one else will drive your car other then you), then I you dont even have to worry about the sliders or brackets.

In regards to quality and comfort I thought they were pretty nice actually. When I was sitting inside I felt nice and snug, and with a 4 point I'd think I'd feel even more snug-er (is that a word?).

Hope that helped.

Well, they're not FIA approved. Good luck getting the OK at any SCCA event. To me that makes them over prices PsOS. For about $100 bucks more you can get new Corbeau Forzas with seat brackets for the FC-- and they're FIA approved.

Old thread but hope more info helps.
If you get the tenzo base it has 3 levels of hight adjustment. The quality is really good on them. Fabric, frame work, and cushion. There real light in weight. I had the tenzo rally seats. I've had them all tenzo, recaro, sparco, and momo. Best bang for your buck, all around.
