Seatbelt recall
well the driver-side auto-seatbelt finally crapped out on me...do I just take a to a dealer and tell them to fix it? Do I have to do anything special or will they be able to look up the recall for me? I just don't want them to try to charge me or anything.
Yeah, there should be a lifetime warentee on the auto-seatbelts. If the dealer won't honor it - call mazda customer service.
Now the bug where the seatbelt light keeps comming on when you move in the seat is at your expense. It's not expensive and their's a TSB on alldata.com that has all the info on the upgraded part (fixes the problem) to install.

Call your local dealer and tell them your seat belt broke and that there might be a recall in effect. I called the local shop and he said bring it down... they replaced both sides and kept smiling the entire time. WWW.nhtsa.gov is the government link to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration where you can look up any and ALL recalled products. Don't forget to ask the dealer if there are any other pending recalls for your car.
