screwed
S5 seat belts are ****
I had mazda fix mine (Lifetime warranty)
The day I got it back, belt light still comes on and flickers, belts stop working randomly
Get the right hex (behind the seat you'll see alil sqare thing yank it off) if you dont got the original, get the right one I forgot what theyre called look like a hexagon, and keep one or two in your car incase the belts stop working
Pull the wire in there, retract belt manually, safe to drive
I cannot tell you how to fix them, I hear there is no fix. Mazda "tested" mine and they said both belts passed and worked fine, yet I still got a flickering belt light and they both stop working, uh yeah sure

ya but the light flickers randomly, i think it is a short because now my clock is flickering also. and if i smack the dash the clock starts working. so retarded!!!
If you want to disable them, pull the fuse, remove idiot cluster and remove the bulb for the light. Problem solved. I don't think theres a short, I think your idiot cluster is just going bad or has corrosion in the circuit board. You can remove it, clean it with a brass wire brush and parts cleaner or whatever and re install it. If it still acts up then you'll need to re solder the circuit board.
