$300 t2 potential?

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/1050319027.html I think it has potential because it looks bone stock. I'm going to check it out this Friday. Compression test, check fluids, gas, and see everything for myself. Just wondering if I could get some feedback considering I only have $1,800 to bring the car back to life. If worst comes to worse and the motor is blown I at least have an awesome forum to help me out. I'm pretty limited to whats in my tool box.. no lift/hoist, compressor/airtools, welder, or worktable.

Assuming there is no rust, go for it. Worst comes to worst you could part it out.

I mean really, you could make up half the difference just buy selling the TII rearend/sub frame and brakes. And I would buy it.

Hell if I was closer I would buy it and I all ready have 2.

Why do people in Cali always get all the good deals.

All I ever find around here are busted *** n/a's or 3rd gens.

Even if the motor is shot, you stated you have roughly $1,800, $1,500 after buying the car which is plenty for a rebuild if its even blown. It might be missing a few parts that you'll throw on and drive the car for 2 years before it pops.

The guy is busy until friday so hopefully no one snatches it up before I do. I'm gonig to follow up with the guy today... yesterday he told me he's too busy with work to show car and right now his phone is off . After all the given response.. I'm getting it. Rebuilding it would skyrocket the cars value. If things don't go as planned I can always part it out and still make money. I'll let everyone know how things go tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

If it runs, buy it and i'll buy it off you for $1000. Instant profit right there.

I found a good deal I bought a 88T2 on NJ craiglist the car didn't run he was asking $1000 for the car, no rust, black and 95k on the body. I was really calling for my cousin to get the car, he didn't want it and I was trying to get it but didn't have money (spend it on a POS NA rx7) Long story short I gave him an xbox 360 w forza steering wheel and GOW1

I'm wondering why you even posting it I would of got this car already.

For $300 that is a freaking steal! Then take the rest of your money for a rebuilt and tune up. You will then have one happy rx7. Keep us updated on this car, hope it works out for you.

New deal...

some guys offered $800 for it. I know it's still worth it for a tII, but that $500 I could get it. First come first serve and I can get there in an hour. Should I do it?! I'd still need to pay for a tow truck.
