seals for taking engine apart?

some of you might remmember that my girlfriend, (now ex) dropped a nut into my intake manifold, well we have tried to magnet it, and we cannot get it, so it looks like i am going to have to pull the engine and take it apart, the nut is in the front intake manifold, what is the way i can get it out, using the least ammount of new seals, and how much will that cost me?
thanks

If its still in the intake manifold you only need a new gasket. I think those are like under 20 each from RB, MAZDA, or mazdatrix

its not in the intake, i was wondering if there is a way to take apart the engine partially, like take off the front housing, and get the nut out.

thanks

if i was you i would take the lower intake manifold off...........and the turbo........

Then CAREFULLY rotate the engine by hand..........(19mm)

should pop out by the exhaust and have a big magnet to aid it's exit

it shouldn't hurt it if you do it slow and easy.........

If you take the front cover off, you need to get a font cover gasket, oil pan gasket unless you want to use the same one. Some people do, but sometimes taking off the front cover will tear the pan gasket.

If you mean taking off the front rotor housing, you may as well get a complete rebuild kit because that is digging really deep.

yeah, the engine comes apart from the back (flywheel side).
Are you ABSOLUTELY sure you have to pull the engine apart? I think you should pull the intake manifolds off and make sure you can't get it there.
If it is in the engine I don't think spinning it over is a good idea. There is a compression part of the rotation that would probably drive the nut into the rotor if you weren't careful.
Try whatever you can before pulling the engine apart, it's a big deal and you might as well do something while it's apart (streetport, etc).

yeah, you can't access the rotors or any part of the intake track from behind the front cover. If anything fell into the front cover its going to fall all the way to the oil pan. Try taking off the intake manifold from the engine and fishing it out through there.

If it fell in the intake manifold it could be in the rotor housing.Just do what every one is saying, first try taking off the intake manifolds and if you can't get out that way you will have to do a rebuild.Might as well as do a complete one as well.Kill two birds with one stone.

technically
if you take it apart and don't **** it up, you don't have to replace anything.

we've done that once before, the engine still runs fine.

thanks $150fc, that is what i wanted to hear, so what should i do to not "**** it up"? lay it on the ground so it doesnt move apart, or dont take the bolts out all the way(tension bolts or whatever the name of the things that run the length of the engine?) also how far do the bolts thread in, just to the front plate?
