I LOVE YOU NEWBIE!! MUUUUUAH!

Anyways
one. What would cause an engine to loose compression, could be worn out seals, or housings in bad shape, maybe bearing to worn out, etc... A LOT OF THINGS REALLY.

Coolant seals usually go bad due to failure of coolant change. the engine will run yes but it will smoke like a mother and require you to add coolant everyday.

An engine can run with just one rotor working but it will run as fast as your granpa or grandma kinda like a geo metro.

so a engine will run will blown coolant seals but the apex seals being blown will kill the motor compltley??? i think i got this now. coolant seals being blown will make the engine overheat fast and i will have keeping to add coolant but the apex seals blowing will kill the engine instantley?? ?right

blown coolant seals will not overheat your engine unless you run out of water. I think it would actually cool it a bit due to all of the heat being absorbed during the phase change of the coolant.

I think blowing the apex seals will not instantly kill the engine, but rather you will be only running off one rotor. I could be wrong though.

If its just the apex seals for one rotor, then it will run, but VERY VERY slow and the car will shake and vibrate like hell! But both rotors and it wont run at all. As for coolant seals, if they are blown, coolant will seep into the engine and burn with the gas, causing a sweet smell from your exhaust and white smoke. It won't overheat fast unless you run out of coolant.

apex seals blowing will kill the engine instantley?
That is pretty much right, except worded bad. The way you put it sounds like if the apex seals blow it will kill the motor with it (i know sounds confusing but keep reading). Actually if the apex seals go, the motor wont run because it can't build compression. Like if your heart stops (apex seals blow), you will die (engine won't run) because you have no blood (compression). So if you get a new heart (new apex seals) you will come back to life (engine will run) because you have blood again (compression)! Now I know that it isn't medically possible, but it is mechanically possible . Anyway its not like if the apex seals go you need a whole new engine (rotors and housings), just new seals (most of the time anyway). I probably didn't make any sense, but I tried !

That makes sense! if i blew the apex seal, only running off one rotor, it would make the engine sound like **** and run like crap, and that would explain no compression in the one side of the motor. If it is the apex seals, is there anywhere i can find out how to install them ??

sorry to say dawg, but you might need a new rotor housing, and maybe your rotor got damaged a lilttle too... EBAY TIME
