Well if I had a blown TII I would consider buying a J-spec engine. Pretty much because they are cheap and I like gambling any ways. Before I put it in I would visually check out the engine, look in the exhaust ports and stuff checking for any apex seal damage and such. Make sure it turns freely and produces some distinct swooshes.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
By the time you pay shipping, a jspec will run $900-1400. For that money, I can build you a nice rebuilt ported engine with 2pc seals and the like. Knowing what I know, I would never get a jspec for the sole purpose of dropping itin. I can see getting a cheap one to rebuild and have a real nice clean motor, but not to just drop in.

I do rebuilds and porting.
Your best options is the following:
rebuilt with 2pc atkins seals, FD corner springs, oil thermo bypass pellet and oil rings, with streetport(heavy SP) for $1100. I can further assemble the engine with manifolds and wiring for an additional $150 to save you time and be sure it is done right the fist time, drop it in adn plug it up. There is a $100 core charge, but it is usually easier to pay that rather than pay to ship your old block. You will be responsible for arranging and paying for shipment of either motor.

So... 1500 and you can build me an assembled engine
I would go for the porting and you assembling everying possible, i like the power
I would just have to thow on the alternator waterpump ect or would the engine have everything
Also, would you be intrested in a website? company logo ect?
im a design student in NH and have experience with websites and designing corprate logos and if you want to talk about it you can email me webmaster@torii-int.com

As for the webpage, there have been many offers, but mainly what holds it back is me, not having time to write up what I want it to say. We can talk about it though.

I think Soul Assassin should turn straight edge and go turn in his motor for a new emissions legal one! That way I can get his Jspec in mail when I order mine

OKay, I confused here. My friend josh bought a 87 TII with a J-spec already in it for 1800 bucks. The only mods it has is down pipe, and the suspension as far as struts and springs go. That SOB screams down the road. It makes his old one and mine look stupid. What gives? We've been over that engine multiple times and havent found ANYTHING to make it so much faster than it is. IF Jspecs arent faster than American versions can the downpipe make THAT much differance. The previous owner wasnt the one that put the engine in some kid in Alabama had the motor put in. So we have no idea if anything internal was done. It pisses me off I tell ya. Cause if j-specs arnt faster than I'm beginning to believe the motors ported.
